im up to date even with the manga and there was never really an explanation as to how luffy thought of gear 2 or trained for it. I guess he just developed it off screen. I guess he didnt really need training since all he does is pump more blood through his veins which makes him faster

Yeah, i don't know anything tbh but based on my observation, he trained thru "determination" to save all friends. It's like mental training but how he got the idea to increase blood flow idk... plus him getting smarter to analyze blueno's devil fruit is a mystery to me

It's later explained during the end of this arc. Though What Luffy did is essentially what athletes call blood doping if you still don't know I would be happy to explain. Also Luffy is not dumb like how people make him out to be, he just like any other human out there learning from his experiences and mistakes. He grows stronger and smarter after every battle though he does tend to be stupid in every other aspect but he's not dumb as a fighter!

always hilarious for me how stupid some opponents r when their evenly matched with some1 even 5-10% stronger than them like luffy here. even if they were weaker b4, then they do something to push themselves far beyond their current strength and the opponent still thinks its nothing and they can still take them. even tho they have "co-workers" with similar techniques to them but r far stronger giving them the knowledge of being able to gauge another opponents strength but they just dont.
usually it fits the story and character which makes it even more hilarious. tho i do think blueno was the 2nd wisest of the group. especially after taking sanjis kick ud think hed have wised up, which is 1 of those times it does seem a little forced. also 1 of the few that could get away and call and even transport the whole gang and more marines. :)
